Coffee & Conversation
April 15, 2026 - 1 - 3 pm

A twist with Coffee & Conversation as we celebrate National Canadian Film Day with 100s of other communities across Canada. We're featuring a movie matinee of "A Bear Named Winnie".

At the outbreak of World War I, troops marched through the Manitoba city of Winnipeg. Among them was Lieutenant Harry Colebourn, a veteran with a gift for animals. He soon meets an orphaned bear cub, who he names "Winnie", after his home town of Winnipeg. Winnie provides comfort for the soldiers, and by order of General Hallholland, becomes the regimental mascot.

It was this bear that inspired A.A. Milne's beloved character Winnie-the-Pooh! Winnie has since become a symbol of friendship and childhood innocence.

There'll be pop and popcorn for all!

AND remember if you don't want to drive or stress out about finding a parking spot, call the Lions Bus. Call 403-507-0208. It is free of charge for this event!
